Taking the time to understand our customers and their needs is something we pride ourselves on at Emmerson Kitney.
We believe in a more valued-added, consultative approach that enables us to advise our clients and spot the candidates who fit their culture and aspirations.
We also like pies.
So, we were very pleased to be invited to visit the Huddersfield factory of Jones Pies this week to see where the magic happens.
From its inception in 1988, this Yorkshire success story has expanded to the point where it now bakes 60,000 pork pies, pasties, rolls, wraps and slices every week, serving a variety of stockists including supermarkets, sports clubs, garage forecourts and the food service industry.
Our Managing Director David Kitney and Finance Recruitment Specialist Georgia Would scooped the golden tickets ahead of their envious colleagues.
And they were treated to a fascinating tour of the production facility by Managing Director Tony Rosso-Gill, meeting a number of the company’s skilled bakers and pie makers.
David said: “Visiting Jones Pies for a factory tour helped us to learn more about the business operation and see the environment first-hand.
“This helps with selling the business and opportunity to prospective candidates. How can we truly promote a business we have not seen? That’s why seeing the operation in action is so important and part of our service delivery.”
Georgia said: “I’ve been working with Tony and Jones Pies for a number of weeks and believed it was vital to understand the way the production line worked and what impact the new Financial Controller would have on the business.
“It was really interesting to see the factory in full flow and to get an in-depth understanding of what has contributed to the company’s success over the past 30 years. And to take home a couple of samples, of course.”
