EK Financial Recruitment are currently working with a local well-established organisation who work closely with many local people and organisations to provide a quality service in the local community. Our client is currently seeking a Management Accountant to join the team in early 2021. The ideal Management Accountant will be a commercially minded individual who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge.

As the Management Accountant you will report directly to the Finance Manager who works closely with the senior Management team. You will work closely with all departments within the organisation and must be confident in presenting data to non-financial members of the team.

As the Management Accountant you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with collating, analysing and presenting information for month end
• Assisting with the preparation of Management Accounts, including ensuring accruals, income and prepayments are calculated and posted correctly
• Working closely with the Finance Manager to produce monthly accounts for the board and deputising if required
• Ensuring Bank account statement management and weekly reconciliation is undertaken
• Handling intercompany accounts and producing and distributing the monthly accounts for all companies
• Assisting with the preparation of accurate weekly and monthly financial reports
• Dealing with the preparation of cashflow forecasting over reporting periods
• Assisting in the preparation of cash-flow forecasting and actuals over several reporting periods
• Providing accurate financial information to key stakeholders
• VAT Returns
• Working closely with all members of the finance team, adhoc assistance in other areas of the finance team when needed

As the Management Accountant you will be:

• AAT qualified / currently studying towards CIMA / ACCA
• Experience working within a small finance team
• Knowledge and experience of using SAGE 50 and Microsoft office especially Microsoft Excel
• Have good attention to detail and confidence to present details to management team
• Have excellent time management skills, as well as confidence and working well within a team
• Ability to manage own workload and use initiative
• Confident Communicator both via email and phone
• Ability to work to strict deadline
• Be commercially driven and aware, dynamic, forward-thinking, and aware of other departments within the business
