Mechanical Services - The foundation on which the company was based, Engineers are highly skilled and individually trained in specialist sectors within the mechanical industry such as domestic, commercial catering, commercial gas, design & build.

Renewable Services - With advances in renewable technologies there have been significant changes in the way we produce energy, SRS have always had a big passion for renewable resources. The business has delivered numerous renewable installations for their clients including, Commercial Solar, Commercial/Domestic Biomass and Ground Source Heat Pumps.

Electrical Services - It soon became clear to SRS that the electrical sector is something which comes hand in hand with most projects, we found that as standard within the industry and with other companies many clients have their hands tide having to use separate contractors on site which would often impede operations. With this in mind, SRS made the decision to improve their clients experience and opened their own electrical division, knowing exactly what they require in order to create the perfect start to finish project for their clients.

Finance Manager

Reporting to the Owner / Managing Director of SRS and working closely with the rest of the management team, the Finance Manager will take ownership of the accounts processes and admin team. You will form part of the business Senior Leadership Team in addition to the direct line management and development of a team of three. You will be commercially minded and a strategic thinker and have worked at a similar level within an owner managed business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and report on accurate statutory and management accounts including posting journals, performing accruals and prepayments, reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Present findings to the senior management team, providing analysis and commentary identifying and explaining what has occurred.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed.
  • Oversee a small accounts team, ensuring they produce accurate invoices to deal with the high volume of accounts and services provided
  • Work closely with the external accountants and auditors
  • Oversee payroll, including all bacs payroll payments and HMRC Gateway confirmations
  • Liaising with colleagues across both finance and non-finance departments to ensure accurate and insightful analysis is provided
  • Maintain records and supervising of all the ledgers
  • Recommend methods and strategies for cutting or improving financial performance
  • Ensure that the recording and reporting of labour and overheads is accurate
  • Work with the Directors to produce the budgets and forecasting
  • Calculation, presentation, and payment of VAT
