An exciting opportunity has arisen within ABP for a Management Accountant to work within a fast-paced environment and sits within ABP’s Finance Shared Services (FSS) team in Port Business Services (PBS) that are based in Hull. The team supports all central functions and 21 ports around the country, which make up the three UK regions with the Humber region being the largest. The Humber makes up 60% of ABP’s £600m revenue. As the Management Accountant, you will be a key stakeholder working within the small close knit Humber region finance team alongside other Management Accountants and Assistant Management Accountants, reporting to and supporting the Senior Management Accountant for the Humber region.
You will support the Senior Management Accountant, processing and producing monthly management accounts and related control accounts for the ports and terminals across the Humber. The shared services team in Port Business Services (PBS) provides Management accounting for 3 regions, plus Head Office and Humber is one of these regions.
In addition to producing monthly management accounts and reporting packs and presenting information to senior management, you will review company performance to provide analysis and commentary in order to aid the local finance teams and senior management in their decision making within the ports and terminals.
To be the successful Management Accountant you will be a fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant with 2+ years’ experience in a management accounting role or looking for your first industry role from practice.
A vital part of the role will be to engage with other key stakeholders across the business, Therefore, its important you have the ability to communicate and to challenge where appropriate, be a great team player wanting to help to drive continuous improvement and change within the organisation.
